For all the sneaker heads out there, Karmaloop is auctioning off this exclusive pair of Nike Air Yeezy's designed and signed by the infamous Kanye west. Black Friday: A Shop-aholics Favorite Holiday

ATTENTION! Black Friday is upon us. I know all the fellow shop-aholics must be anxiously awaiting tomorrow. The crowds, the lines, the SALES, gotta love it all. Well for those of you who are just jumping out of your seats waiting, you can start by checking out the online deals already going on here http://www.black-friday.net/. Stores are opening in just a few hours, so my advice would be to take a quick nap, sleep off that food coma, gear up the car and secure your place in line. Of course the lines at Best Buy are going to be outrageous, so I'd say hit up your local department store where you can get the most bang for your buck. You can find my partner Phil frolicking around Copley Plaza, or just about anywhere with great clothes and even better deals. Happy Shopping Everyone!

Quote of the Week: In the Spirit of Thanksgiving

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. ~John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Bad Romance: Great Fashion?

Lady Gaga seems to be the "talk of the town" lately. Some hate her, many love her, personally I'm indifferent, but I absolutely love the "Bad Romance" video. It's something new and different that I haven't seen in a while, which in all essence, sums up who she is. The outfits rocked in Lady Gaga's performances and in this video alone, speak ATTENTION. Her style is way out of the ordinary. But Hey, give it a couple more decades and we may all be dressing like this. Anyway enjoy the video and all of its bazaarness.

The People Speak: Come get a mouth full!

This past week I was able to attend a forum with Lupe Fiasco! Yes lupe and was lucky enough to have front row seats, how I love UPENN. We were also surprised to have the presence of the great Darryl McDaniels, DMC of Run DMC. But you know though Lupe and DMC were the reason a lot of us attended, the actual message and purpose for the forum had a much greater impact on the crowd. He was there to promote the new documentary that he and a number of other artists will participate in called The People Speak on the History Channel. Based off of the famous book by Howard Zinn, The People’s History of the United States. This movie is sure to give a wider perspective of democracy and take us outside of the history books and hopefully inspire thought and discussion. With all that said check it out, because like I said before we have a chance to make a difference!

Zulema Griffin

So I had the faboulous oppurtunity of meeting Zulema Griffin at a business conference hosted by Harvard last week, and I have to say, I am extremely inspired. As a previous Ford model and contestant on Project Runway, Zulema Griffin is truly a wealth of knowledge about the world of fashion. Her experience in the fashion world led her to recently jumpstart her own clothing line which she displayed online, causing her to be the first to pioneer the first Internet launched fashion show. What makes Zulema so unique is her concern with the lack of African American prescence in the fashion industry. After the conference, she spent over an hour with me to speak about these concerns and her eagerness to get more African American men and women involved in this dominated industry. She has also recently started working on a traveling film documentary called "Ink Bleach" where she explores the roots of African American culture and its dissappearance. I was extemely impressed by not only her passion for this industry, but by how much she cared about making a difference in each individual, which was clearly displayed by how much time she was willing to spend with me. If I do decide to partake in a fahion career, I would hope to have the fantastic opportunity to work with a woman this great. Below is an interview she had at one of her fashion shows.

The Brooklyn Circus: A little cooler than Barnum and Baileys

So people out there I want to highlight a group as our designers of the week. Yup thats plural, the people over at The Brooklyn Circus are revolutionizing how we view streetwear and design taking on a very classic throwback to 1920s ragtime era while still remaining relevant. Ouigi the owner of the store which is located both in NY and San Francisco defines success as “Building a legacy and an environment that others can be inspired by and have enough faith in to build along with you.” I like to say genius and well done good sirs well done. Check out some of their pieces and visit their blog, http://thebkcircus.com/bkc/, I promise you won’t be sorry!

Quote:

“Respect, passion, and discipline are the fundamentals of my success. Respect yourself, people’s opinions, other cultures and your interests. Find your passion, it’s not out there, it’s inside of you. When you find your passion, learn to respect others and become disciplined in everything you do, the world will be your playground. The pain of hard work is temporary, read, read, read and then read some more. Surround yourself with people who are not afraid to fail, yet always work to succeed. Don’t regret anything, it’s all experience.”
