This past week I was able to attend a forum with Lupe Fiasco! Yes lupe and was lucky enough to have front row seats, how I love UPENN. We were also surprised to have the presence of the great Darryl McDaniels, DMC of Run DMC. But you know though Lupe and DMC were the reason a lot of us attended, the actual message and purpose for the forum had a much greater impact on the crowd. He was there to promote the new documentary that he and a number of other artists will participate in called The People Speak on the History Channel. Based off of the famous book by Howard Zinn, The People’s History of the United States. This movie is sure to give a wider perspective of democracy and take us outside of the history books and hopefully inspire thought and discussion. With all that said check it out, because like I said before we have a chance to make a difference!
